A number of Disneyland rides--including the roller coasters, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean--use the FastPass system. It lets you defer your wait in line and come back later in the day for a much shorter wait.
Disneyland has grown and evolved since it opened, but 14 of its rides--including the Jungle Cruise and most of the rides in Fantasyland--have been operating since the park opened in 1955.
Animatronics are a form of robotics which allow mechanical creations to take on very lifelike features. The technology facilitated some of Disneyland's most beloved rides, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones.
In addition to the rides, Disneyland features a number of live stage shows, daily parades, fireworks displays on weekend and summer nights, and "character meet-ups" such as the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire.
