Six Flags is one of the most recognizable amusement park companies in the United States, as of 2009. Six Flags a number of theme parks across the country and in international locations. One of the Six Flag parks was located in Aurora, Ohio, but was sold in 2004.

    History

    • The Six Flags company created Six Flags Ohio after purchasing the Geauga Lake amusement, which had been around since 1889. It had a short run before it was sold.

    Time Frame

    • Six Flags purchased the Geauga Lake amusement park in 2000. Six Flags Ohio would last only until 2004 before closing down.

    Rides

    • Six Flags Ohio had a number of thrill rides, including popular roller coasters like the Batman Knight Flight and the Superman Ultimate Escape. It also had water rides at its Hurricane Harbor water park.

    After Selling

    • In 2004, Six Flags Ohio was sold to the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, which owns the Cedar Point amusement park and a variety of other parks.
