How to Visit Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson, Wyoming (often called Jackson Hole, which refers to the surrounding valley), is a gateway for millions of tourists visiting nearby Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks and skiing at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Full of outstanding western shopping and dining, Jackson is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

      Take your picture in front of the large elk antler arches that curve over the town square's four corner entrances. An icon of the town since the 1960s, these arches are arguably Jackson's best-known feature.

      Visit the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, half a mile north of the center of Jackson's town square. Take in the world's largest ball of barbed wire, along with other various oddities.

      Take in a gun battle of the Old West. Staged gun battles take place in the middle of the town square at 6:15 every evening (except Sundays).

      Enjoy a variety of spirits, beer and wine at Wyoming's landmark watering hole, the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. On the town square, it is famous for its cowboy ambiance, astounding collection of western memorabilia, pine architecture, cowboy murals, animal mounts and genuine saddle bar stools. It's also known for its western dancing and live entertainment. Stars such as Willie Nelson and Hoyt Axton have performed country favorites for fans.
