Like most areas that are accustomed to greeting a great many visitors, the town of Jackson has a variety of retail. Along with the coffeehouses, delis, diners and gourmet restaurants, there are plentiful Western-themed steak houses, chop houses and barbecue.
The National Museum of Wildlife Art (wildlifeart.org) is a 51,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility with a permanent collection of more than 5,000 items. There are 14 exhibit galleries and an interactive gallery for children, a library, an auditorium and a cafe. The Jackson Hole Center for the Arts (jhcenterforthearts.org) hosts a year-round variety of performances, exhibitions and classes for all ages. The Center brings together 17 local and regional arts and educational organizations together under one roof, and offerings vary from the Bolshoi Ballet to Thomas the Tank Engine. The Off Square Theatre Company (offsquare.org) presents plays year-round.
Guides at the Teton Science School (tetonscience.org) are experts at finding "elk, moose, bison, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, mule deer, wolves and bears" for your viewing pleasure. Working with the management of Grand Teton National Park, the National Elk Refuge and other public wilderness organizations, it offers 15 expedition options in custom vehicles that are guided by expert biologists.
