How to take a tour of Warner Brothers Studios in Los Angeles

The next time you are in Burbank, California I highly recommend the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. Not Universal, Warner Brothers. Many people don't know that you can take a tour of the other movie studio in Burbank but it really is easy.

Starting just recently the Warner Brothers VIP Studio Tour has become available every weekday. Prior to this the tour was booked well in advance and only for larger groups. Fortunately for locals and tourists they've made it a more public friendly experience with a studio museum and set tram ride schedule.

      Choosing your tour.

Warner Brothers Studios offers a few different options as far as what type of tour you can take. The two general distinctions are 'VIP Tours' and 'Deluxe Tours'. The deluxe tour is similar to the VIP Tour at Universal Studios so it can be confusing. There is a big cost difference between the two tours. It all depends on how big a fan you are or how big a tourist you can be.

      The VIP Tour

The VIP Tour is a ride around the studio in an electric cart. You will see sets, sound stages and back lot streets. Strangely Warner Brothers sets are far more familiar than Universal's so it might make for a more fascinating tour. The tour ends at the Warner Brothers Studio museum where you are allowed an unlimited amount of time during tour hours.

Capacity for each VIP tour is 12 people and the tours run every 20 minutes Monday through Friday from 8:20 AM - 4 PM. Tours can be arranged in advance online at the link below. If you do not book a reservation the tours are first come first served, so it's a good idea to book your Warner Brothers VIP Tour in advance. Tours originate from the VIP Tour Center at 3400 Riverside Drive. The cost of the VIP Tour is $45 per person.

      The Deluxe Tour

The Warner Brothers Deluxe Studio Tour is an impressive experience. Not only do you get to see the sets, sound stages and back lot areas; but you also get to walk around and talk to crew and production people on actual live movie and t.v. sets. These tours will show you exactly how and where one of your favorite shows or movies are made.

The tours are five hours long and include a gourmet lunch in the Warner Brothers Studio commissary. This is the same place that studio production workers, including actors, dine for lunch. You should definitely bring your autograph book to that meal.

The Warner Brothers Deluxe Tour often goes through the sets of Two and A Half Men, The Big Bang Theory and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

There is only one Deluxe Tour per day and it leaves at 10:20 AM Monday through Friday from the Studio VIP Tour Center at 3400 Riverside Dr. in Burbank. There are only 12 seats per day for this tour so book ahead at the link below.
