Pismo Beach is located on the coast of central California. A seaside community, the charm of Pismo Beach lies in its beaches, its quaint shops and restaurants, and the beautiful natural surroundings fed by an oceanfront climate.     • F. McLintocks is the most well-known steakhouse in Pismo Beach. A part of the neighborhood for 33 years, F. McLintocks also earned the California Beef Council's 2003 Beef Backer of the Year title and has locations in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, and Paso Robles, including a seafood enterprise in Pismo Beach called Steamers. The menu consists of "Steak 'n Ribs," with over 10 choices of both, any way you can think of, and "The Cowboy Gourmet," with carnivorous dinner entrees. In addition, of course, seafood, salads and other steakhouse fare are available. Prices per person are between $20 and $25 on average.

    Alex Bar-B-Q

    • Since 1942, Alex Bar-B-Q has been serving up oak-pit fired fare to the residents and visitors of Pismo Beach. This low-key steak pusher has a legendary barbecue sauce recipe that was created by the original owner over 60 years ago. Proud of its local wines and traditional style of cooking, Alex serves hand-cut beef entrees like filet mignon ($22.95) and rib eye ($28.95). The menu also lists old favorites like surf & turf ($45.95) and seafood entrees, which obviously benefit from its extremely advantageous spot right on the ocean.

    Lido Restaurant

    • A part of the luxury all-suite Dolphin Bay Resort and Spa, Lido boasts organic, local ingredients, fresh from the farm or the ocean. Not known as a cookie-cutter steakhouse, Lido nonetheless serves up mouthwatering steak dishes to very discerning and affluent diners. A tasting menu is available with highlights like the filet mignon with blue cheese potato soufflé (starting at $45 for four courses). Other eye-catching entrees include the Kobe beef tartar and carpacci ($16) and the short rib osso bucco ($28).

    Brad's Restaurant

    • A Pismo Beach mainstay, Brad's Restaurant has been around for over 50 years, wooing new and old customers with fantastic service and approachable prices ($15 to $20 an entree). Brad's received rave reviews on Urban Spoon for their tri-tip sandwich, which they also offer as a marinated tri-tip entrée ($18.50). The menu runs the steak gamut from New York steak ($18.95) to the rib eye ($24.95), accompanied by seafood, sandwiches and award-winning clam chowder.
