What do Hungarian people wear?

Traditional Hungarian dress for women consists of a blouse with full sleeves, a heavily ruffled petticoat, and an embroidered sleeveless overblouse. It is completed with a colorful embroidered apron. Hungarian women also wear shawls or a headscarf made of light silk material decorated with embroidery.

Traditional Hungarian dress for men consists of long linen pants, a white, embroidered shirt with full sleeves, and a vest that reaches below the waist. The vest is usually black and made of wool and features elaborate silver or gold embroidery. A Hungarian hat, called a "kalpak," typically accompanies this outfit.
