In Singapore, the import and export of gas masks are controlled under the Arms and Explosives Act. A license is required to import or export gas masks. The license is issued by the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).
Any person who wishes to possess or use a gas mask must hold a valid license issued by the PLRD. The license is required for all gas masks, regardless of their type or purpose.
There are certain exceptions to the licensing requirement. Gas masks that are used for medical or scientific purposes are exempt from the licensing requirement. However, a person who wishes to possess or use a gas mask for medical or scientific purposes must still notify the PLRD.
Any person who possesses or uses a gas mask without a valid license commits an offence and may be liable to a fine or imprisonment.
