      Report the damages immediately to your airline baggage services office at the airport location where the damage occurred. You will need to provide a copy of your airline ticket and your baggage claim number.

      Allow the baggage services office to inspect your luggage to determine the extent of the damages. If your luggage shows any liable damages you will be required to fill out a Damage to Property Report. Individuals traveling in the United States have 24 hours to get this report on file; individuals traveling outside the United States are given seven days to file the report.

      Keep a copy of this report for your records. This report will contain important information you will need to check the status of your claim.
