Business class passengers are allowed two pieces of walk-on baggage along with one personal item. Economy class passengers can carry one piece of walk-on baggage plus one personal item. Walk-on baggage must be no more than 55 centimeters long, 40 centimeters wide and 23 centimeters deep. Examples of personal items include a small purse, small briefcase, a laptop or a baby changing bag. On its website, the airline says these items are carried at its discretion and passengers must be able to lift their cabin bag into the overhead locker unaided.
Bmi also operates a low cost airline called bmi baby, which provides internal UK flights as well as flights between UK airports and European destinations.
