A government-issued identification must be shown at the airport security checkpoint. Examples include a valid driver's license, passport, military ID card or ID card issued by a state's department of licensing.
Items such as box-cutters, knives and razors are prohibited. Certain sporting goods such as baseball bats, hockey sticks, arrows and ski poles are also not allowed on the plane, except in checked luggage. Explosives such as fireworks, fuel, lighter fluid and replicas of explosives are never allowed on a commercial airplane.
All large electronics including laptops, video cameras, DVD players and regular sized video game consoles must be removed from your baggage before proceeding through security. If such items remain inside bags prior to being placed on the X-ray conveyor belt, you could cause delays.
All liquids carried through the security checkpoints must be in 3.4 oz containers and must be stored in one clear, quart-sized, Ziplock bag.
The following liquids and gels will be allowed to pass through airport security and do not follow the general restrictions: prescription medications, eye drops and saline solutions. These items, however, must be declared to a security officer. Breast milk and formula in reasonable amounts are also allowed through checkpoints.
