Are us dollars accepted in Laos?

While some establishments in Laos do accept US dollars, it's not widely used. The local currency is the Lao Kip (LAK), which is the recommended form of payment. The Kip is the only currency accepted for domestic purchases and services in Laos. However, some larger hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions may also accept US dollars.
