Postcard Postage to the Netherlands: Current Rates and Tips

Sending a postcard to the Netherlands? As of 2024, a standard international postcard (up to 1 oz / 28g, meeting size requirements) from the United States costs $1.65 via First-Class Mail International. This rate increased from the $1.20 figure cited in older sources.

Key details:

• Size limits: Minimum 3.5" × 5", maximum 4.25" × 6", thickness 0.007"–0.016"
• Weight limit: 1 ounce for the postcard rate; heavier items shift to letter/flat pricing
• Forever stamps: Global Forever stamps (currently $1.65) cover 1 oz international postcards and letters to any country
• Delivery time: Typically 7–21 business days, no tracking

Rates vary by country of origin. If mailing from Canada, the UK, Australia, or elsewhere, consult your national postal service (Canada Post, Royal Mail, Australia Post, etc.). Private carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) offer faster tracked service but at significantly higher cost—usually $20+ for a postcard.

Pro tip: Use a Global Forever stamp. It never expires, even if rates rise, and eliminates the "do I have enough postage?" guesswork.
