Should you use Jamaican Dollars or US Dollars?

The official currency of Jamaica is the Jamaican dollar (JMD). While US dollars are widely accepted at tourist areas and larger retail stores, using Jamaican dollars is recommended for several reasons:

That being said, it's a good idea to have a mix of both currencies on hand during your trip to Jamaica.
