You can either park on-site at one of the airport's own parking lots, or in an off-airport parking lot, such as Alabama Airport Parking. The airport has 5,600 spaces where you can park for up to 24 hours, and a remote lot with 900 parking spaces for longer-term visits. Off-airport lots are primarily for long-stay parking.

The Airport lots are color-coded so that you can easily locate your vehicle, and there are emergency call boxes for contacting Airport Authority staff. Off-airport lots are often cheaper, and offer extras such as car valet service or frequent parker programs. All airport parking facilities provide complimentary shuttle services to the terminal area.
As of 2010, the parking charges at Birmingham Airport are $1 per hour in the short-stay lot and $12 per day in the remote lot. Off-airport lots charge around $3 less per day, but may not be as secure.
