As of 2010, the CDC recommends several immunizations to be scheduled during the adult years. Vaccinations such as influenza, varicella, tetanus, and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) are recommended at predetermined intervals throughout the adult years.
Hepatitis B is a recommended vaccination for unvaccinated travelers who might be exposed to blood or bodily fluids through sexual contact, medical treatment or accident.
The rabies vaccination is recommended specifically for travelers who may come in direct contact with bats and risk exposure to the rabies virus. Examples are veterinarians, adventure travelers, wildlife professionals or researchers.
