Step 1: Visit a Traffic Department in the UAE
- Visit any Licensing Department in the UAE (in Abu Dhabi, the traffic department is called "Drivers Licensing Department" and is located in Mussafah).
Step 2: Submit the required documents
- Submit the following documents:
- Original passport
- Two passport-size photos
- Original Bahrain driving license
- Valid UAE residence visa
- Emirates ID copy
- Proof of address in the UAE (e.g., tenancy contract or utility bill)
- Eye test result (valid for 3 months from the date of issuance)
- Application form (available at the licensing department)
Step 3: Pay the required fees
- Pay the required fees, which vary depending on the type of vehicle you want to drive.
Step 4: Pass a driving test
- Pass a practical driving test if you are converting your license to a higher category.
Step 5: Receive your UAE driving license
- Once you have passed the driving test, you will be issued with a UAE driving license.
