Does a child born in Jamaica before 1962 granted automatic citizenship the United Kingdom?

Anyone who was born in Jamaica before it gained independence on 6 August 1962 is a Commonwealth citizen. There are no automatic routes for Commonwealth citizens to register as British citizens but they may be eligible if they meet certain criteria, such as having a British parent.
