Milan to Liverpool by Car? Not Direct—Ferry/Tunnel Required

You cannot drive continuously from Milan to Liverpool—the English Channel blocks the route.

Options

  1. Drive + Eurotunnel (LeShuttle):
    • Milan → Calais (FR): ~950 km, 9.5 hr
    • LeShuttle Folkestone → Calais: 35 min (book ahead)
    • Folkestone → Liverpool: ~430 km, 4.5 hr
    • Total: ~14.5 hr driving + tunnel
  2. Drive + Ferry (Dover–Calais / Dunkirk): Add 1.5–2 hr crossing + wait time.
  3. Fly: Milan (LIN/MXP) → Liverpool (LPL) or Manchester (MAN): 2.5 hr + transfers.
  4. Train: Milan → Paris (TGV, 7 hr) → London (Eurostar, 2.5 hr) → Liverpool (Avanti, 2.5 hr): ~12 hr total.

Driving + tunnel is scenic but tiring; flying is fastest.
