Locate the Amtrak website online and select the 'Tickets' tab. Type in your departure location, in this case "San Bernardino" as well as your arriving destination, "Grand Canyon." Also choose "one way" or "round trip."
Select your departure time and date and how many adults and children will be attending. Hit "Go!" on the Amtrak website to find trains that match your selected dates and times.
Choose from the list of departing trains based on what time of day you wish to leave and factors like lowest price. Because this is an overnight train ride you also have the option of selecting closed room accommodations including those for family. Virtual tours of these rooms are also available.
Proceed to online checkout, fill in any promotional codes you might have for discount purposes. Because Amtrak requires log in information you will either create a new Amtrak account or sign in your existing account. Fill out additional contact information and have a credit card ready to purchase your tickets.
