The city of Fall River is located about 45 miles south of Boston in southern Massachusetts. Roughly 90,000 people live in Fall River. It is known for its Battleship Cove museum, which houses the world's largest collection of Navy vessels from World War II. There are plenty of activities in town to do with your infant, whether you are a visitor or resident.

    • The Fall River YMCA offers several classes for parents and their infants. Swimming classes and open swim, for instance, are offered daily at the facility's indoor pool. There is also a children's play area where infants can crawl around and explore and watch bigger kids play and do art projects. This YMCA location has been serving the Fall River community for over 150 years.

    Fall River Carousel

    • The Fall River Carousel is part of the Battleship Cove attraction in Fall River. While infants are too young to enjoy looking at the Navy ships, your little one might enjoy a ride on the carousel with you standing next to him for moral and physical support. The carousel was built in 1920 and is made of wood. Rides cost $1, or $5 for seven rides. The carousel is open from 11 a.m until 5 p.m. daily from June 28 through October 11, and on weekends only from May 25 through June 27. It is closed to the general public during winter and spring, but is open year-round for birthday parties and other special events reserved in advance.

    Gymboree Play and Music

    • Gymboree Play and Music is a children's activity center located about 15 minutes northwest of Fall River in Seekonk, Massachusetts. The facility offers a plethora of "Play and Learn" classes for parents and infants that help develop your child's imagination and skills in communication, music, art, cause and effect and problem-solving through various games and play. Infant classes are separated by age groups of zero to six months, six to 10 months, and 10 to 16 months.
