Established in 1998, the Gaslight Brewery & Restaurant is the only family-owned and operated brew-pub in South Orange that makes its own beers. Additionally, the food is created the same way (made fresh every day) and features American fare. Gaslight is open for late lunch (at 3 p.m.) and dinner whose menu features appetizers of baked brie, mussels, crab cakes, fresh mozzarella platters with and without meat, calamari, and olive salad, to name a few choices. Guests will also find burgers prepared with traditional beef, lamb, chicken, portobello mushroom, bison or ostrich meat, various types of pizzas, and entrees on the menu. Some entrees include fish and chips, homemade ravioli, chicken parmigiana, grilled chicken, roast beef, BBQ ribs, and selections inspired by New Orleans, such as Jambalaya or a a cajun platter of okra, Cajun Popcorn and Catfish. Being a brew-pub, the menu does not stop at the food and for many guests it may actually only be about grabbing a drink or two. The beer menu features eight selections crafted at Gaslight and sponsors numerous events throughout the year such as beer tastings and live music.

Located in South Orange Village, Cafe Argula is a contemporary restaurant that features Italian and American cuisine. The decor of the restaurant features an open-floor plan with couches, a formal area for dining, an exposed kitchen, along with a full seafood bar and an ice cream counter. The restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner was created by owner/chef Carlos Carbonaro who crafted a menu with New York and Tuscan flavors. The dinner menu includes appetizers of Cesar salad, spinach salad, caprese, calamari, tuna, crab cakes, clams and portabello mushroom. Pasta dishes on the menu include spaghetti with chicken, shrimp, or meatballs, penne with prosciutto, rigatoni with eggplant, shrimp scampi, and fusilli with vegetables, to name some choices. The menu also features numerous entrees, such as Chicken Fantasia (Baby artichokes, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in a Brandy sauce) and Pignoli Crusted Salmon (mushroom and truffle polenta with sautéed spinach and porcini truffle). Additionally, the restaurant has a separate wine and dessert menu that includes tiramsu, chocolate cake, New York cheesecake and baked apple pie.

Open for lunch and dinner, Above Restaurant and Bar is contemporary establishment that specializing in American fare. The menu features appetizers of olive pudding, mushroom and lobster fondue, a sausage tasting, beets, a cheese plate, lobster mac-and-cheese and crab cakes, as well as salads such as grilled Caesar, baby spinach and watercress. The menu also has pizzas that are cooked in Above's food-fired oven and main dishes of chicken, a duck tasting, tuna, skirt steak, salmon, lamb, and a burger, to name a few options. The menu also features small plates or sides of broccoli, onion rings, spinach and sweet potato fries, as well as a separate dessert menu. Guests can also enjoy a drink a Above's fully-stocked mahogany bar.
