A recent study conducted by researchers at Marshfield Clinic showed women who take vacations are less likely to become tense, depressed or tired. Men benefit from vacations as well. Researchers from the State University of New York found men who take vacations every year reduce their overall risk of death by 20%, and their risk of death by from heart disease by as much as 30%.
Looking for a cheap vacation? If you're into the great outdoors, consider going camping. Campsites are much cheaper than hotels, and provide you with the opportunity to become one with nature. (Try roasting marshmallows at a hotel!) From exploring nature trails to singing campfire songs, camping is a cheap and relaxing way to spend your vacation. A word of caution: While camping is cheap, camping gear is not. If you don't already have the equipment needed, you may be able to borrow from friends or family.
