As a Canadian citizen, you do not need a visa to enter the United States if you are traveling directly from Canada and have the intent of visiting or studying. You do need a valid Canadian Passport if you are traveling by air.
Canadians traveling on business may enter the United States without a visa. Two exceptions to that rule are for an investor visa or a professional under NAFTA. NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Canadians traveling to the United States should make copies of all important documents, such as passports, credit cards and bank information, and keep one copy in an easily accessed safe place at home and one with them in case of emergencies.
