How much foreign remittances does Pakistan get?
Pakistan's remittance inflows reached a record high of $31.27 billion in the fiscal year 2021-22, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). This represented a 27% increase from the previous year's inflows of $24.66 billion.
Workers' remittances are a major source of foreign exchange for Pakistan and play a crucial role in supporting the country's economy. They contribute to the country's foreign exchange reserves, support the Pakistani rupee against foreign currencies, and help finance imports.
