How much holiday entitlement does a firefighter get in the UK?
In the United Kingdom, the number of holiday days that a firefighter is entitled to depends on their length of service:
Length of Service Holiday Entitlement
- 0-5 years: 21-23 days, inclusive of public holidays
- 5-15 years: 24-27 days, inclusive of public holidays
- 15-30 years: 28-31 days, inclusive of public holidays
- Over 30 years: 32-35 days, inclusive of public holidays
It's important to note that these are the minimum holiday entitlement figures as agreed upon by the National Joint Council (NJC) for Local Government Services. Individual fire and rescue services may offer additional holiday days at their discretion.
