How long can you keep a disabled car on the side of road in California?

According to California Vehicle Code (CVC) Section 22515(b), a *disabled vehicle cannot remain on the side of the road for more than 7 days*. If the vehicle is not removed within that time frame, the local law enforcement agency or the California Highway Patrol (CHP) may have it towed or stored.
