To get a driver's permit in Illinois, you must be at least 15 years old and have:
1. Valid Illinois learner's permit.
2. Proof of residency in Illinois.
3. Proof of age (birth certificate or passport).
4. Social Security number.
5. Completed the Driver's Education course.
6. Passed the vision test.
7. Paid the application fee.
Visit a DMV Office:
1. You can visit any Secretary of State facility (DMV) to apply for your driver's permit.
2. Bring all the required documents and fees to the DMV office.
3. Fill out the application form provided by the DMV.
4. Take the vision test.
4. Pass the written knowledge test.
Once you pass the written test, you will receive your driver's permit. The permit will be valid for one year.

After the 9-month period, you can drive without supervision, but you cannot drive between 11 pm and 5 am unless accompanied by a licensed adult.
