Contrary to intuition, riding a roller coaster is not safer than crossing the street. U.S. data (2014–2018):

• Roller coaster injuries: ~1,000 per year (mostly minor).
• Pedestrian deaths: ~4,500 per year (2009–2018 average).

While coaster accidents are rare and heavily regulated, pedestrian fatalities are far more common. Both activities carry risk, but daily street crossing poses a higher statistical danger.
