Doing Vegas on the cheap won't get you any chocolates on your pillows. You won't receive the plush spa robe in your bathroom or the fancy shampoos and lotions. But who goes to Vegas to hang out in the hotel room anyway? Enjoy these inexpensive lodging alternatives and save a few bucks for the all-you-can-eat buffets.
  1. Circus Circus

    • Located on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, Circus Circus has been a favorite for years. Primarily catering to families, Circus Circus offers amenities such as crib and cot rental at $15 per night, as of 2011, stroller rentals and warm shallow swimming pools for the kiddies. As of 2011, prices start at $37.50 per night, and on-line booking is available.

    Palace Station

    • Located just off the strip, Palace Station was remodeled in 2006, and even though a face-lift is in place, budget pricing remains. Palace Station offers rooms starting at $27.99 per night, as of 2011. The hotel features modern decor and upgraded amenities that include flat screen televisions and pillow-top mattresses. Choose from views of the Las Vegas Strip, downtown Las Vegas or the surrounding mountains. Fitness room facilities and a 24-hour business center are also provided.

    The Clarion Hotel & Casino

    • You will find The Clarion Hotel & Casino two blocks west of the Las Vegas Convention Center and within walking distance of the Las Vegas Strip. The onsite Bistro restaurant, featuring Greek-American cuisine, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers room service from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. You will also find a free Wi-Fi Internet access in every room, a swimming pool and parking garage. Prices start at $49.99 per night, as of 2011. The maximum total number of guests allowed per room is four. Dogs under 75 pounds are allowed, for an extra $20 per day.

    Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon

    • Located on a hot Strip intersection -- Caesars Palace, Bally's and Bellagio take up the three other corners -- Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon won the location jackpot. With just 197 rooms, Bill's offers the charm of smaller hotel. As of 2011, $36.95 per night will get you a 400-square-foot room, with either a king bed or two queen-sized beds. The hotel is decorated in the style of the Victorian era, complete with stained-glass windows in the bathroom. Other room features include a 42-inch plasma TV with pay-per-view movies, voice mail and electronic checkout.
