Cheap Tokyo Hotels Near Disneyland

From its humble beginnings as a small castle town in the 16th century to its current status as Japan's capital and largest city, Tokyo has grown into its role as one of the world's most exciting cities. The city boasts museums, two Disney parks and remnants of its imperial past. Dozens of hotels and authentic eateries surround the Tokyo Disney Resort, and a handful of these provide budget-style accommodations within about six miles of the resort.
  1. Weekly Mansion Kameido

    • The Weekly Mansion Kameido, a two-star hotel just over 5 miles from Disneyland, offers basic accommodations in the heart of Tokyo's Sumida district. Guest rooms are furnished with TVs with pay-per-view options. Kitchen and tableware and portable clothes washers are available for rent from the hotel concierge, while coin-operated laundry facilities, Internet access and phone chargers are also available. Nightly and weekly rates are offered, which start at $121 per night or $85 a night per weeklong stay based on double occupancy as of 2010. Both the Sumida Triphony Hall and Tokyo's Museum of Contemporary Art, or "MOT," are located less than two miles from the Weekly Mansion Kameido. Home to over 4,000 exhibits, the MOT's collection includes sculptures, oil paintings and prints.

    Hotel Nihonbashi Villa

    • Situated about seven miles north of the Disney resort, this hotel offers reasonable lodgings near Tokyo's business district. The Hotel Nihonbashi Villa houses 80 simple guest rooms, each of which includes a waffle gown, or robe, and Internet access. The Takadaya Restaurant serves lunch and dinner entrees on the hotel's ground floor. Massage services are available upon request, and the hotel offers laundry services. Double rooms start at $141, as of 2010. Hotel Nihonbashi Villa is near the Sensoji Temple, completed in A.D. 645, and the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Founded in 1993, this museum houses a collection of original and replicated exhibits and large-scale models showcasing Tokyo's history and culture.

    Hotel Yanagibasi

    • Also about seven miles from the Disney parks, Hotel Yanagibasi is a two-star hotel in Tokyo's Akihabara neighborhood. Private twin, semi-double and shared rooms are offered, as are family rooms. Coffee, tea, Internet access and maps are complimentary and are offered in the lobby, and a self-catering kitchen is located on site. Guest room rates vary and range from to $65 per person in a shared room to $250 for a four-occupant family room. However, the hotel offers significant discounts when accommodations are booked online. The same rooms cost $46 and $185, respectively, when reserved online as of 2010. The Hotel Yanagibasi is approximately two miles from Ueno Park, home to a number of museums and a zoo, and the Imperial Palace, where their majesties the emperor and empress reside.
