Reserve your room for weekdays; weekend hotel stays are much more expensive in Las Vegas. (See Reference 2)
Avoid visiting Las Vegas during major sporting events or high traffic times; the less crowded the city is, the more likely you will find discount rates, even at the five star hotels. Casinos who need customers will lower their rates if business is slow. (See Reference 2)
Request a discount at the check-in desk; high stakes gamblers can get their rooms at no cost, but everyone has the right to request a discounted rate and some people find the management pleasantly accommodating. (See Reference 2 and Resource 4)
Plan your trip far in advance for the best rates; the hotel rates are much lower if you make the reservation early.
Utilize the Internet. Search sites such as LasVegasDirect.com and I4Vegas.com to find discounts on most of the major Las Vegas hotels. (See References 2-6)
Use your players card to receive discounts on your room if you previously visited the hotel. If you are visiting for the first time, get a players card for the casino you will play at most. The players card will keep track of what you have spent in the casino and entitle you to complimentary items.
