How to Find Cab Fares in Las Vegas

According to its website, there are 16 taxicab operators in the Las Vegas valley as of November 2010. The city's taxis levy an initial charge, called the "drop," once a passenger has entered. The drop rate is $3.30, and if passengers begin their trip at the airport, an additional $1.80 per trip is added to the taximeter. In addition to the drop, Las Vegas cab drivers charge $2.40 per mile, and 20 cents for each 1/12th of a mile traveled. You can estimate what a cab ride will cost you by using the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority's website.
