Cheap Warm Places to Vacation

Where once travel was all about finding something new and trendy, today it has become all about finding the best for the least, and preparation is the key to making the most of your travel dollar.
  1. Off-Season

    • Travel in the world's tropical regions tends to ebb and flow based on the busy and slow seasons of the home nations of those who visit rather than the calendar seasons of the destinations themselves. Taking note of when everyone else is traveling, and doing the opposite, will oftentimes result in far lower rates and a vacation in the same warm climate that others have paid far more to enjoy.

    Research Coversion Rates

    • Although you may have always wanted to stay at that 5-star standard of elegance on the Cote d'Azur, the exchange rates don't always make it possible. Plan your vacation backward instead by first researching the conversion rates of currencies around the world, then select your list of possible destinations from those with the most favorable rates. This can ensure a great return on your vacation dollar.

    The Developing World

    • Many developing regions around the world not only have favorable conversion rates, but also feature high-end resorts built either to attract the tourist dollar, or as a venture by an established brand that wishes to expand into a given region. Either way, the result can be deluxe accommodations for a very low rate in what amounts to an exotic location.

    Travel Domestic

    • While conversion rates and developing nations will often have great deals, they tend to be located at great distances from home and the corresponding airfare can erase the on-the-ground savings. Traveling to domestic destinations allow you to travel by car, rail, bus or budget airline, thus deleting the hefty air ticket from the equation.
