Cheap Hotels on the East Coast

Travel plans for the East Coast area of the continental United States do not need to include expensive accommodations. With proper planning, your vacation or business trip can include staying at hotels on or near a beach right on the Atlantic Ocean. Many cheap hotels exist from which to choose, and most are part of national chains.

Virginia Beach, VA
- The Ramada Limited hotel is located right across the street from the beach, and the price is very reasonable at about $80 a night as of 2010. The hotel is near the famous Virginia Beach Boardwalk and very close to Neptune Park, a location for many events and free concerts. It is also close to Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Ocean Breeze Water Park, as well as the naval base at Norfolk. The Ramada serves a complimentary continental breakfast, has a roof top pool and Wi-Fi internet access. All newly renovated rooms have ocean-front balconies, coffee pots and in-room sinks. - The Quality Inn Oceanfront Hotel has direct beach access. It also has a five-story, tropical and lushly landscaped atrium complete with birds and fish. It even has an arched bridge, an indoor heated pool and hot tub. Guests with children will appreciate the indoor and outdoor play areas, game rooms and special children's pool. The rooms have kitchenettes, sofas and pulsating shower heads, as well as HBO and Wi-Fi. Guests will also appreciate the opportunity to watch the sunrise while sitting on the beach. Best of all, the September 2010 price for an ocean front room was about $100. Prices vary throughout the year, however, and according to the season.

Cocoa Beach, Florida
- Guests can stay at the Doubletree Hotel on Cocoa Beach for about $90 as of 2010. Not only is this a beachfront establishment, but it is also near the Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Air Force base. It is also only 45 minutes from Orlando's many attractions. In addition, the hotel offers a fitness center, heated pool and a private lounge. Guests are welcomed with freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies and breakfast is included.
