Cheap Hostels in Mazatlan, Mexico

While no authentic hostels exist in Mazatlan, Mexico, there are still plenty of cheap accommodations for the budget-conscious traveler. Mazatlan was originally settled by the Spaniards in 1531 and became a major port and village on the Pacific coast. Before the Spanish came, the area was populated by the Totorames, or native Indians, who were hunters and fishermen. This coastal city offers much in the way of outdoor activities including hiking, swimming and snorkeling.
