Let's face it, a trip to a Disney resort is going to be expensive. Whether you're traveling to Walt Disney World outside or Orlando, Florida, Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California, or one of the resorts abroad, costs add up fast. Don't worry, you can save a few dollars on tickets by looking for the discounts.
Check the promotion that Disney is offering for the time that you're planning on being there. Disney offers a free ticket for your birthday, a free ticket for volunteering at a prequalified charity and other promotions. Disneyland has offered adult tickets for the child's price. Check the official web site for the park that you'll be visiting to see the latest offers. Disney also offers discounts for members of organizations such as AAA and AARP. Active and retired military members should also check to see what discounts are available for them.
Sign up for the free email newsletter at mousesavers.com. It's sent on the 15th of each month and is full of information on the Disney parks, including special promotions and discounts. If the tickets are about to go up in price, Mouse Savers will let you know about it. There's also a special link each month for discount tickets through authorized Disney ticket agents. Your email address will not be sold to a third party when you sign up, so you don't need to worry about spam.
While you are visiting the Disney area, you might notice stands advertising Disney tickets. These probably are for a timeshare pitch. Usually you will take a tour of their facilities, and at the end, they'll give you the tickets. Age, income and other restrictions can apply. For some people this is a really good deal, but be warned: the pitch is very high pressure. Sales people want you to make an on-the-spot decision that could cost you tens of thousands of dollars. If you don't have the resolve to say no, you might want to avoid this as a way to get tickets.
