Every year, millions of tourists make the trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Popular tourist attractions include casinos, hotels, resorts, sporting venues and a plethora of other nightlife activities. Because of the abundance of attractions, it is easy to rack up a large list of expenses, which can make vacationing in Vegas very expensive. However, with the right amount of preparation and planning, it is possible to enjoy a cheap vacation in Vegas.
Plan your trip in advance, and be flexible. Select three or four sets of dates that are at least three months away. By selecting a variety of dates that are in the distant future, you give yourself flexibility when you start planning the vacation.
Book your hotel room, airfare, and entertainment online. Most hotels offer online specials, sometimes up to 50 percent off the regular room rate if you book the room online. Hotels also offer special rates for rooms booked several months in advance.
Look online for special package deals. Many websites let you book your airfare and hotel accommodations together.
Purchase tickets to the entertainment you want to attend before you leave for Vegas. If you wait too long, you may have to buy tickets for well above the original price. Hotels consistently offer free tickets to shows for their guests, so you may want to check those out before booking expensive tickets from other sources.
Eat at restaurants that offer special deals and have cheap menus. All-you-can eat buffets often offer a good value for the buck. In some hotels and casinos you can even find high-end meals, such as steakl and seafood, for a bargain price.
Avoid vacationing in Vegas during or around special events and major holidays. The World Series of Poker, held during late May through early July, the week of the Super Bowl, and Thanksgiving and Christmas all create a jump in prices due to an increase in the number of tourists.
