    • 1

Confirm your flight(s) and accommodations a few days ahead of your day of departure. Not much is more stressful than getting bumped or confusing your flight times/hotel dates.

    • 2

Be as organized as possible during your journey, and try not to rely on your memory when it comes to appointment times and such; disorganization can lead to serious stress. Along similar lines, make sure your cell phone and laptop battery are charged in advance.

    • 3

Get up 15 minutes earlier than necessary in the morning, which will lead to less racing around to prepare. Likewise, ready yourself for the next morning the evening before-for instance, put out the clothes you plan to wear.

    • 4

Try to avoid cutting things too close with your scheduling. Traveling can always have hold-ups and we rarely get where we're going right on time, so try to give yourself some margin for error between your arrival time and the first meeting for example.

    • 5

Force yourself to live "in the moment" when not working. There's no reason you have to be dwelling on an upcoming sales pitch while you're taking a hot bath at your hotel.

    • 6

Bring calming reading materials and/or meditative diversions for your down time, whether it's crossword puzzles, a book of poetry or whatever helps you relax.

    • 7

Try to look ahead and not backwards during your trip, even if things aren't going your way. Reflecting on a failed presentation, for example, will only add to your anxiety and possibly have a negative effect on your next one.
