Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa may be one of the most swanky hotel experiences you could have in or around the Disneyland resort, but it also happens to be very kid-friendly. The hotel is in the middle of Downtown Disney and it also has a private entrance to Disney's California Adventure. The hotel also boasts rooms with portable cribs and bunk beds, pools with water slides, and a restaurant and café with a kids' menu. In the evening, send your kids to Pinocchio's Workshop (for children between ages 5 and 12) where they can participate in arts and crafts, play board games, watch movies and listen to storytelling.
The Disneyland Hotel is a classic family hotel for a lot of reasons. From its Neverland-themed pool (complete with pirate ship and water slide), to its Disney-themed family-style guest rooms, it is a hotel that your whole family is sure to enjoy. You also will not be able to miss the hotel's two restaurants, koi fish ponds and beautiful waterfalls.
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel is also an excellent hotel choice for families with children, but it is a little farther from the parks than the other two hotels. It is not as extravagant as the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, and it does not boast Disney accents the same way that the Disneyland Hotel does, but it usually is a little less expensive than the other Disney hotels. Its room styles vary by price, and cribs are available upon request. Among its kid-friendly recreation opportunities are its rooftop pool (complete with waterslide), a little theater with free movies for kids to watch, and two on-site restaurants with kids' menus.
If you would rather save money on your hotel stay, the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Anaheim is your next best bet when it comes to keeping the kids happy. In addition to its spacious rooms with optional cribs and rollaway beds, it offers plenty of opportunities for everyone in your family to enjoy their hotel stay. Water lovers are sure to love the rooftop pirate-themed water playground that includes slides, a toddler area, fountains, a drench bucket and a Jacuzzi for the adults to relax in. The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel also advertises a full-service restaurant with a kids' menu, babysitting services (upon request), and a convenience store.
The Camelot Inn and Suites, located across the street from the Disneyland Resort, is another kid-friendly hotel choice. Its variety of room choices can sleep up to eight people, come with optional cribs or rollaway beds, and are equipped with refrigerators and microwaves. The Camelot Inn and Suites also offers a complimentary continental breakfast, coin-operated laundry machines, an outdoor pool and hot tub and a game room with a video arcade.
