Know what you are looking for when you look for a hidden Mickey at Disney World. Hidden Mickeys are the shape of Mickey's head, a profile of his whole body, a face profile or even his gloved hand or boot.
Begin your search as soon as you enter the Disney World parking lot. Some hidden Mickeys are best seen from a distance, so notice your surroundings and look high and low. Once you enter the park, look for hidden Mickeys on the street, on buildings, in hedges, throughout stores, in restaurants and on attractions.
Hunt for hidden Mickeys while you are waiting in line for a ride. Look at the ceiling, murals, stepping stones and the outsides of surrounding attractions. Hidden Mickeys can be painted, drawn or even cut-out from other decorations.
Understand that not every Mickey Mouse head, silhouette or profile is a hidden Mickey. Any Mickey that is too obvious is considered a decor Mickey by Disney World. Pats of butter shaped like Mickey's ears and head, Mickey cut outs on benches and huge Mickey heads in the middle of Disney World are all deliberate decorations. You know you've found a hidden Mickey if it's in a place you wouldn't expect, you have to point it out to someone else or you did a double-take the first time you saw it.
Prepare for the disappearance of hidden Mickeys. If you've been keeping a list of where and when you've spotted hidden Mickeys, you may notice that some of your previously spotted Mickeys have disappeared. As Disney World redesigns itself, hidden Mickeys disappear. Don't despair; for every hidden Mickey that disappears, another hidden Mickey appears. Hidden Mickeys can also reappear once construction and redesign are done.
Take pictures of the hidden Mickeys you find. Keep them in an album as proof of how many hidden Mickeys you've found.
