Where were the live animals in first thanksgiving parade borrowed from?

There were no live animals in the first Thanksgiving Day Parade. The first parade took place in Philadelphia in 1920 and featured floats, marching bands, and costumed performers, but no live animals. It wasn't until the late 1920s when live animals made their debut in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
