Who was the first woman to cross Simpson Desert?

In 1931, Edith Coleman became the first person to drive across the Simpson Desert when she and Fred Collings completed their Simpson Desert Expedition. However, it was another female driver, Patsy Adam Smith, who was part of an expedition which first crossed in an easterly direction. Edith Miriam 'Weary' Dunlop was also part of this 1936 trip through the region.
