Did Lewis and Clark visited the Mississippi River?

Lewis and Clark did not visit the Mississippi River. Their expedition, known as the Lewis and Clark Expedition, took place from 1804 to 1806 and followed the Missouri River and its tributaries to the Pacific Ocean. The Mississippi River is located to the east of the Missouri River and was not part of their exploration route.
