Why did the settlers move from Jamestown to williamsburg va?

Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in North America, founded in 1607. However, the settlers soon found that the location was unsuitable due to its swampy terrain and lack of fresh water. In 1699, the capital of Virginia was moved to Williamsburg, which offered a healthier environment and was more centrally located within the colony.
