What did the pioneers leave behind when they left to Oregon trail?

When the pioneers left for the Oregon Trail, they often left behind their homes, farms, and communities, as well as much of their belongings, due to the arduous and lengthy nature of the journey. It was not practical to bring all their possessions, and many items had to be abandoned along the way.
