How many tourists visit Iceland every year?
According to the latest statistics from Statistics Iceland, a total of 1,766,000 foreign tourists visited Iceland in 2019. This marked a 14.5% increase from the previous year, when around 1,543,000 tourists visited Iceland. The number of tourists visiting Iceland has been steadily increasing over the past decade, with the exception of a slight decrease in 2010 due to the volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajökull. The vast majority of tourists visiting Iceland come from Europe, with the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States being the top three source countries.
