Much is known about the beginning of history?

Not much is actually known about the beginning of history because written records only first appeared sometime between 4000-3000 BCE on cuneiform tablets at Mesopotamia. As a result most information about prehistory, the period starting from human origins all the way up to when humans developed systems of writing and started recording it down has to either deduced logically and/or estimated through dating techniques which can still sometimes have discrepancies that lead to confusion in historical analysis.
