Did sir Walter burley griffin design town of Theodore Queensland?
Sir Walter Burley Griffin did not design the town of Theodore, Queensland. The town was established in 1872 under the name of Bollon Swamp on the Leichhardt River. In 1906, the town was renamed Theodore after Thomas Theodore, who later became Premier of Queensland and a federal cabinet minister. It should be noted that although he did not design the town itself, Sir Walter Burley Griffin was involved in other planning projects across Australia including Canberra, the national capital of Australia, which he and his wife, Marion Mahony Griffin, designed in 1911 after winning an international design competition.
