Estebanico the Moor who also went by Estevanico was a black Moroccan slave brought as part of Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca's exploration across central America. While not completing this exploration and the rest of Vaca's party Estebanico was the first man of sub-Saharan African descent to explore this area.
